Autistic Angel Adventures

Make-Up Monday

Some of you may have noticed I haven’t been here for a while; I apologize for the sudden disappearance.  My life has been so chaotic for the past two weeks that I had no time (or energy for that matter) for getting on the computer.  I had planned to be back on Motivating Monday but due to my Green Eyes having a nasty stomach bug on Monday, I’m now making up for Monday today!  At least I’m trying to, he’s home sick from school again today and you know how much gets done when an angel is underfoot, right?

A True Friend

No one ever said life would be easy, but we all can get by with a little help from our friends.  We all have our fair share of difficult times we must encounter on this road called life.  Sometimes it may feel too much for us to bear, and may even make us consider possibly throwing in the towel.  But most people don’t realize when they reach that point of exhaustion just how close they are to something better.  Friends help us in so many countless ways, be it support, love, understanding, or encouragement.  Sometimes friends are actually angels in disguise.
Recently friends of mine, whom I consider as family near and dear to my heart, are going through a difficult time beyond their control.  At times like this one must remain positive and hopeful that better days are just around the corner.  I truly believe that everything in life happens for a reason.  We may not know why until the time is right, and only then may we begin to understand it.  There for we must continue down the road of life towards the next destination.  Friends are an absolute treasure in moments like this.  I may not be of wealthy means or have the answers to their many unanswered questions, but I can offer much more than money or knowledge can…I can be your shoulder to cry on, a hug when you need one, a hand to help you, or even a nonjudgmental ear to vent to.  This can mean so much at times like this, to motivate them to not give up!
So when you know someone in need, who just might be reaching the end of their rope, remember there is ALWAYS something that you could do!  Sometimes it’s the littlest things that mean the most in life.
This past Thanksgiving weekend we all gave thanks for what we have in our lives . . . . Now be the friend that someone else can be thankful to have in theirs!

Yours Truly,

Heather Joy

Take The Time
Here we are, Thanksgiving is upon us in only a few days.  Everyone is busy cleaning house, decorating for the holiday, pulling out favorite family recipes, doing last minute food shopping, perhaps even preparing to travel to visit friends or loved ones.  Of course the kiddos also have a four day weekend, which can add to the craziness.  But let’s try to enjoy the holiday, don’t let the stress of things compiled run you down.  This is the time to enjoy some quality time with those you love.  Yes, I know, you’re thinking of all the food you have to prep for company, but trust me the turkey will make it to the table!  This holiday is about giving thanks for what you have…key word here is “have”.  So many people feel they constantly need more or don’t have enough, that they tend to forget to be thankful for the true blessings we already have been given.  So whether you’re putting on a dinner for twenty or just two remember it’s still Thanksgiving.
Take some of this time off to enjoy things you may be too busy to enjoy with the hectic schedule of work, school, or travel….like enjoying fun time with your children or loved ones you don’t get to see that often.  So many take time for granted, putting things off till later.  But what if later never comes around again?  Time flies by us too quickly to put off spending special moments with loved ones: so sit and listen to Grandpops stories of back in the day, learn how to make that dish of your Mom’s you so love, or unleash that inner child that’s been hiding inside you and go jump in the leaves with your kids!
Before you know it Monday will come around again and we’ll be back to school/work as usual.  Remember to take the time for what’s most important in life…FAMILY.

Wishing all of you and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving

Yours Truly,

Heather Joy

Weathering The Storm

Happy Monday!  Yes, unfortunately Hurricane Sandy is trying to put a damper on this one for all of us on the east coast.  So most of us are stuck indoors, the sky is gloomy looking, it’s raining nonstop and my beautiful tree outback has lost most of its colorful leaves.  Schools are closed as well as all the malls and stores surrounding our area.  But it’s not all that bad; this is when I think of one of my favorite quotes….

Stir Up Your Creativity

Happy Monday!  Today my goal is to motivate the creative side of YOU!   You don’t have to be an artist to do that, everyone has a creative side that’s just waiting to show off.  I myself have a serious addiction to DIY, crafting, drawing, painting, thrifting… you name it!  My latest craze is finding a way to reuse, recycle/up cycle or re-purpose things.

Autumn’s Inspirations

Good morning everyone!  Hoping you all had a good weekend, and enjoyed some of the beauty autumn has given us recently.  Of course it depends on where you live, but Pennsylvania this time of year can look similar to a work of art.

Inspirational Monday

I chose to dedicate my Monday morning blogs to sharing some inspiration with everyone.  Why Monday?  Well if you stop the average person while in route to work on a Monday morning, what is the number one statement you’ll hear?    “I HATE MONDAY’S!!”  I know we all love our weekends, and dread having to start another work week,…
